Surrounding of Jannum

The houses are surrounded by meadows, the view is very peaceful, attractive and outstrechted. Jannum is located between the cities Dokkum (8 km), Leeuwarden (municipality of the province, 20 km). From Holwerd (9 km), it is possible to take the ferry to the beautiful island called Ameland. Besides this, the Frisian province is famous for its `eleven cities tour` (of which Leeuwarden and Dokkum are two of these cities). This tour can be cycled or walked on an anual event on Whit Monday.

There are many possibilities for rural cycling and hiking routes along different points of interest. Close to Jannum, the hiking trail called Burmaniapad can be started. Other sightseeing possiblities are the small bridge of Bartelehiem and Hegebeinbum. This small village is famous for its mound, which is the highest one in The Netherlands. Another option for a (day) trip is to visit Schiermonnikoog, another island closeby Jannum.

 

There are many options for activities doing with children, like visiting the indoor playground Sanjesfertier (Feanwalden), Aqua Zoo (Leeuwarden), swimming pool (Dokkum and Leeuwarden), beach at Eeltjemeer and recreation Noarderleech in Hallum.
